Along with maestro drummer Andy Fraser, I was part of multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Theresa Elflein’s band, Mouth, until spring 2017 when Theresa relocated back to her native Germany. Not long before Theresa left however, the band spent a productive couple of evening sessions in the studios at Sussex University recording three favourites of the songs we’d been playing live: Blood Beat, Such a Useless Piece of Art and An Exchange. Those recordings then spent a year resting, maturing and having all sorts of crazy overdub extras added, including some brilliantly anarchic trombone from Freak Power’s Ashley Slater. However, I finally finished the mixes a couple of weeks ago and now, following a classy mastering job from Matty Moon, they’re available on all the usual streaming and download platforms. Have a listen, share with friends, and enjoy.
